Toba au Japon, Yoskay Yamamoto est parti aux Etats-Unis à l'âge de 15 ans. Illustrateur autodidacte, Yamamoto a vu grandir son art en tombant amoureux de la culture urbaine occidentale. Yamamoto a développé une manière de marier deux différentes cultures dans son travail artistique. Il mélange avec nostalgie des personnages icônes de la culture occidentale avec des éléments traditionnels et mythiques de la culture Japonaise, créant alors une osmose, un équilibre entre ces deux héritages.

A self-trained illustrator, Yamamoto ís artistic tastes expanded as he fell in love with the urban culture of the West coast. Yamamoto discovered a way to fuse the two different cultural backgrounds together into his work. Yamamoto nostalgically blends pop iconic characters from his new Western home with traditional and mythical Japanese elements, balancing his Asian heritage with urban pop art.
